Online Warranty Claims Processing System - Carrier Transicold

The Client

Carrier Corporation, a subsidiary of United Technologies Corporation (NYSE:UTX), is the world's largest manufacturer of air conditioning, heating and refrigeration equipment for commercial, residential and transportation applications.

The Carrier Transicold Division supplies a complete range of refrigeration and air conditioning systems for the transportation industries using a worldwide network of dealers in 171 countries.

The Idea

Carrier Transicold had a pc-based dial-in warranty claims system that was a challenge for its dealers to use and for its staff to maintain. Furthermore, it was not Y2K compatible. Management of Transicold decided that building a web-based front end for its warranty claims processing would drastically improve the service to its dealers, enhance operational efficiency at the headquarters, and serve as the initiative to bring the system to Y2K compliance.

The Result

Purplewire delivered "WebClaim" to Carrier for pilot testing within 60 days of the contract award. The system met Carrier's requirements for an Y2k compliant, web-enabled, user-friendly application. Today, WebClaim processes warranty claims around the clock for Transicold's worldwide dealer network spanning North and Latin America, Europe and Asia.
